Attanasio's calls for accountability for Brewers' 2013 failures, but sees 'silver lining'

CREATED Jul. 18, 2013

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Brewers' owner is enduring his first year in many where the Brewers leave the all-star break out of playoff contention.

Mark Attanasio told Journal Sentinel beat writer and 620WTMJ Brewers 360 contributor Tom Haudricourt that the entire organization needs to take accountability for what's happened on the field.

"We win and lose as a team, and as a team, we need to figure this out from a planning standpoint as well as from an execution standpoint. Most importantly, how to be more consistent on the field," said Attanasio.

He also said he saw a "silver lining" in the events - ways to change the team that bring great responsibility on the events of the next 13 days before the trade deadline.

"We have a lot of options here. But that is what makes the task so difficult. What we do, or don't do, at the trade deadline and over the winter will set the course for the team over the next few seasons — and Doug, Ron and I are all quite focused on that."
