NBC26 WEATHER ALERT: WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY

A Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect at 9 p.m. this evening until 6 p.m. Tuesday, for our Northwestern locations.   Around 3-5" of snow is possible for those in the advisory.

Gloomy but mild weather continues today.  We'll have some fog and drizzle through much of today, before heavier snow and rain moves in this evening.  Most of northeast Wisconsin, including Green Bay and the Fox Valley, with start with a period of snow, before changing to rain overnight tonight.  Mainly snow will fall north of a line from Shawano to Marinette. Around an inch of snow is possible in Green Bay, with a few inches possible across the north.  Highs today will be near 40 and lows tonight will be in the 30s.

The precipitation changes to all rain for everyone by tomorrow morning, but could change back to snow by tomorrow afternoon, with additional snow accumulations possible.  Another area of low pressure will track up from the south on Christmas Eve.. As of right now, it's looking like we miss the snow with this system, but it's still worth watching closely.
