Mother bites off dog's ear to stop toddler attack
Chelsi Camp was dog sitting a friend's pit bull in Alvin, Texas., when he attacked her toddler, Kenzi. Camp fought back, literally.
"The dog came up and he was just curious," Camp tells KHOU Houston. "When he smelled her, that's when you saw it flip because I think he smelled my dog on her." The dog began attacking the child.
Camp shoved her fist down the dog's throat and bit one of his ears off. "You do whatever you can," Camp she tells KHOU of the situation. "I don't have physical strength at my side."
Despite deep scars, Kenzi will have her sutures removed next week. She is not allowed to play in direct sunlight.
Camp heartbreakingly could not hold her little girl for the first week of her recovery because of the bitewounds on her own arms. However, "she's meant to be here," concludes Camp. Kenzi is turning two and a half in May.
The dog has been euthanized.
