Longtime “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek has earned a Guinness World Records spot for “most game show episodes hosted by the same presenter.” Trebek has been at the helm of 6,829 episodes of the daily quiz show since he took on the gig in 1984.

He was awarded with the Guinness title Friday night, Deadline.com reports.
”It’s a fun show to do, and it’s a quality program that I never have to apologize for when I meet people,” says Trebek in the video above. “So there are no downsides to this.”
But he also notes that his record may not hold up forever. “It’s the kind of record that can be replaced by someone else in a few years,” he says. “There might be another host who comes along who will outdo me if he is on a program or she is on a program that turns out to be as popular as ‘Jeopardy!’This is the kind of record that can be broken. The good news is that as long as I keep hosting the program, I stay ahead of whoever’s in second place, and that makes me feel good.”
Trebek also says he wants to continue with the show “for a few more years.”
