Green Bay Southwest is 4-0 this season and are averaging over 35 points per game on offense, led by Senior Quarterback Matt McMahon, heading into their rivalry game with Notre Dame.
Just three miles away, Notre Dame features a young squad with five sophomores getting significant playing time for the 3-1 team.
Notre Dame Head Coach John Nowak said Friday's match-up will be a tough one for his guys. He said the depth of his program will be tested after having a fullback finish last week's game on the offensive line, and a tight end play quarterback.
As far as numbers go, the only ones ND wants to see at the end of Friday's contest, is a higher number next to the 'Away' team.
"I want it really bad, you now," said Notre Dame Defense End Cayman Berg. "I live in the district, in the Southwest area and it's all about bragging rights."
"Before I got here [the rivalry] was huge and it still stayed that way," said Trojan Head Coach Bryce Paup. "The kids talk about it all the time, 'You gotta beat Notre Dame'."
The two teams are a combined 7-1 on the season, and years ago combined to make one roster.
"It tends to be the kids we've played with in youth sports. Then some come to Notre Dame, some come here so we know each other very well," said Southwest Senior Quarterback Matt McMahon.
The game can be seen on our sister station, My32, as a part of Sports Showdown.
