Green Bay, WI-- Hundreds of Wisconsin students trekked their way to and from classes today as part of "International Walk to School Day".
The global event helps inspire kids and parents to get more exercise and lead a healthier lifestyle. It also helps to educate kids on safer routes to school. Today's event was sponsored by Martin Elementary in Green Bay. We caught up with two students who say they take advantage of being active every day.
"It's kind of cool just walking with each other. Our parents let us walk together last year so it's still kind of new," say walking buddies Luce and Kayla.
Many of the schools in our area are taking this one step further by adding more physical activity through the school day and incorporating healthy messages into their daily announcement.
