Robbery Suspects Identified in HWY 41 Standoff

Near Oshkosh, Wis. -- Two robbery suspects are dead following a standoff on Highway 41 near Oshkosh. Investigators say it all started shortly before 4:00pm on Wednesday when Randy Lamb Payne's Point Liquor in Winnebago County. Police say Lamb and his female companion, Ashley Luka of Neenah committed suicide. 

Deputies chased a pair matching the suspects' description to Highway 41 near the County Road Y overpass where they surrounded the suspects' car.

Law enforcement shut down both northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 41 between the Jackson Street and Algoma Blvd. exits while officers from the Winnebago County SWAT team, Oshkosh Police Department and Neenah Police Department attempted to make contact with the suspects.

Captain Mark Habeck with the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department says around 6:00pm, deputies heard two gunshots inside the car and found both suspects dead inside bringing the standoff to an end.

Capt. Habeck says no shots were fired from the officers' weapons.

Both Highway 41 northbound and southbound have re-opened to traffic.
