GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Investigators with the Green Bay Police Department say two people were found dead in a apartment on the 500 block of S. Fisk Street Tuesday morning. In a news conference, officers say the victims were a 33 year old woman and a 9 year old child.
The discoveries were made during a welfare check around 9:30 AM. They have not released the identities or relation of the victim.
What started out as a normal police call turned into something more.
"We don't know exactly what happened yet, so we just label it as suspicious. We look at every case the same. We look at everything that could be involved in it," says Lt. Jeffrey Brester of the Green Bay Police Department.
Police are not ruling out suicide, homicide, or possibly a pre-existing medical condition.
Ruth Maki's granddaughter used to play with the boy outside the apartment. She says he was autistic and very nice.
"Kids always had fun so we were all out there for a couple hours and they would be playing," says Maki.
Monica Slater and her daughter live in the apartment complex, concerned and questioning what may have happened.
"Police were here once before so i wouldn't put it past it wasn't going to happen again."
Police are not pursuing any suspects at this time. They also say the public is in no danger. They plan to release more information within the next couple days.
