OSHKOSH, WI-- The Fourth Annual Chester Marcol 5k Run-Walk for Suicide Awareness makes sure anyone who needs help gets it.
This walk features the Packer Hall of Famer who's been touched by suicide in his life and aims to educate others about suicide and mental illness. The money raised goes to various resources in the community to prevent suicide and the organizer says it's important to talk about the issues.
“It's not a dirty word. Every one of us knows somebody with a mental illness, or somebody that has died by suicide, so that's why I'm doing this to help,” said Jenny Wesner, Chairperson.
The event has grown this year and has surpassed more than 800 people taking part.
