GREEN BAY, Wis.-Many middle school students are too young to remember what happened on September 11th, 12 years ago. However, one middle school teacher at Aldo Leopold school is trying to help his students better understand what happened through personal connections.
"I sent out an email to the staff at our school here and sent out emails to all of their parents asking for their recollections of that day," said sixth grade social studies teacher, Scott Ronsmans,
By having letters from people the kids actually know, Ronsmans says 9/11 doesn't just become part of the history books for his students.
"That's their personal connection to that day their teachers and their parents so it can't help but mean more to them when they hear things from us," said Ronsmans.
Ronsmans says he hopes to take all the letters he's received and put them together for a book for his students.
