GREEN BAY -- Shining a light on homelessness in Green Bay.
Tonight, leaders with Project H.O.P.E., Brown County's Homeless Task Force, hosted a rally in Ballard Park. They lit more than 400 luminaries representing each person in the city. A visual way to raise awareness of the growing problem.
"When people are homeless they are people who can't contribute their gifts and their talents to the community and we need to work so that all members of the community can contribute and make this a better place to live," says Catholic Charities Program Manager Bobbie Lison.
Leaders with Project H.O.P.E. are also circulating a petition asking the city to adopt its own 10-year plan to end homelessness in Green Bay.
