APPLETON, WI - Families getting some help from Mission Church in Appleton this weekend.
Each year, the church adopts more than 20 families including more than 100 people through Project X. Today more than 50 volunteers wrapped presents and delivered them to families.
What is unique about this Christmas project, it's designed to enable parents to give gifts to their own children.
Shawn Whitworth, a pastor at Mission Church says "the stuff that's on the list is really simple; they're asking for things like gloves, shoes, hats. Basic things that they need everyday, so we try and find out some things they want and try and help give some of those things as well".
This is the sixth year the church has held Project X.
