GREEN BAY - At the end of the 2013 school year, sixth graders at Edison Middle School decided to pay it forward by making sure everyone in the community has access to a free book.
During the last week of school, the children donated and sold freeze pops. For a week, they teamed up during each of the lunch periods to raise more than $630.
The money the now seventh graders raised was used to purchase two "Little Free Libraries". One is set to be installed permanently outside Edison Elementary. The other has already been installed in the village of Bellevue. Anyone who passes is free to open up the door, pick out a book, and take it home with them. The hope is that others will also put books inside.
