Packers give 400 tickets to youth football group
SUAMICO - Former Packers Wide Receiver Bill Schroeder surprised 200 youth football players and their coaches in Suamico with the opportunity of a lifetime.
The Duck Creek Pop Warner squad received 400 complimentary Packers tickets for the preseason game on August 28th against the Kansas City Chiefs. Schroeder says events like this help the Packers stay involved with the community and support a great cause.
"The Green Bay Packers put up 400 tickets for these kids, and I think at the same time it makes the people understand that this is a community. The Green Bay Packers are part of this community and they want to encourage this kind of support," says Schroeder.
Today's surprise ticket presentation is part of the Packers' recognition of USA Football Month and the group USA Football, which is responsible for the Head Up Program. They focus on the importance of proper tackling techniques.
