Major Marijuana Bust in Manitowoc County

TOWN OF MISHICOT, Wis. -- The Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit  Sheriff's Department seized approximately 285 marijuana plants from a property in the Town of Mishicot.

The discovery on September 20th came after tips made to the Department of Natural Resources. Investigators set up a surveillance operation leading to the questioning of a 49 year old suspect. In all, 8 plots of marijuana was taken by the Metro Drug Unit.

According to a news release, the marijuana plants ranged in size from 4 to 7 feet and investigators estimate the plants would yield approximately 150 to 200 pounds of harvested marijuana with an estimated street value of $300,000 to $500,000. A vehicle and ATV were seized as part of the investigation.
