GREEN BAY, Wis.-- Officials with the Department of Transportation say the Leo Frigo bridge over I-43 sank an additional 1/4 inch over the weekend. This comes after engineers detected a support pier sank half an inch last week.
The bridge was initially shut down last month after Pier 22 sank about two feet, causing the bridge to dip. A spokesperson for the DOT says crews digging near the pier likely caused the half inch sinking last week. Engineers say the recent sinking could be blamed on the rainfall over the weekend.
