ONEIDA-- A spokesperson for the tribe says Oneida Seven Generations Chief Financial Officer Kevin Cornelius stepped down because his wife accepted a job out of state. It’s a move that was kept quiet until the tribe's business committee addressed it at a recent meeting.
The OSGC has been criticized by some tribal members for its failed push to build a trash to energy plant in several communities, including Green bay and Oneida. A petition was submitted in June to have the OSGC dissolved.
The company's chief financial officer, who has publicly supported the gasification plant in the past, is now the corporation's acting CEO.
The Tribe’s General Council is set to vote on a proposal in December to dissolve the OSGC.
