Labor Day Economy Boost in Door County

STURGEON BAY, WI- The weather looking beautiful for the holiday weekend and thousands of people are making their way to Door County and as the summer comes to a close businesses say Labor Day weekend is one of their busiest times.
Bridgeport Hotel in sturgeon bay has 67 rooms. None are available for the whole weekend saying this is their best time of the year.
"September will be one of our better first fifteen days that we've had since we've opened," says general manager David Holtz.
The county averages about 300 million dollars in tourism every year and the fall season also a big part of that.
"The Fall being a big part of our year a lot can still happen and we'll see where things shake out," says Jon Jarosh of the Door County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
County leaders say the apple harvest and fall color season brings plenty of tourists for the upcoming season.
