NEENAH - After years of controversy, work began Wednesday to tear down a dilapidated house in Neenah.
The home Oakridge Place belonged to Stephen Bates.
The town wanted to raze in back in 2011, but Bates took the matter to court.
Earlier this month, the state supreme court refused to hear his appeal, ruling the home was a hazard to the community.
