Kiel--The city of Kiel feels relief as the man who gunned down 13 soldiers at Ft. Hood, including Staff Sargent Amy Krueger, is sentenced for the crime.
A military jury gave Major Nidal Hasan the death penalty for the 2009 massacre. Krueger's former neighbors say they finally feel a sense of closure.
29-year-old Amy Krueger was active in her community and well known by many. Friends and family have longed for this day, when they say justice is served.
Krueger was one of two Wisconsin soldiers shot in the massacre. Hasan will now be tranferred to military death row in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He will wait to be taken to a Federal Correctional Facility in Indiana to be executed. That could take several months.
