Frightening 911 Calls From Marinette County Shooting

WAUSAUKEE, WI- We're hearing the frantic 9-1-1 calls from a terrified couple who became the target of a gunman in Marinette County.

Just north of Crivitz. A panicked Larry Peters from Illinois relays his story to 911 dispatchers.

"He just fired out the window and he hit my windshield," Peters says to the Dispatcher.

The 43-year-old gunman chasing Peters and his wife northbound on Highway 141. The whole time staying on the phone with officers.

 "what do you want me to do," says Peters.

 "I want you to stay in a safe position," says Dispatcher.

 "I don't have a safe position. This guy is coming up on me fast," says Peters.

Once deputies arrived on scene they chased the gunman through  Wausaukee.

The chase continued for 35 miles to the town of Goodman where they found the gunman dead from a self-inflicted gun shot wound.

As for a motive for the suspect's actions police say he had been dealing with depression. they're still waiting to see if drugs or alcohol were factors.
