Emergency Managers Meet to Offer Warnings for Flooding Potential
Appleton-- The National Weather Service has declared this week as Flood Safety Awareness Week. Because we all live, work and play in the Wolf river/Fox river Watershed Basin, a group of emergency managers gathered together in Appleton to discuss the potential for flooding and provide advice and information. Their hope is that by providing up to date information on water levels, it will help the general public stay safe during the spring months. Lake Winnebago was dropped several inches lower than normal by the Army Corps of Engineers, in an attempt to stem off any spring influx into the system. A wet or warmer than normal spring could still cause major concerns for areas prone to flooding.
