By Alex Hagan. CREATED Oct 3, 2013

GREEN BAY, WI- The Leo Frigo Bridge closure expected to cause back-ups this Sunday for the Packers game. Thousands of drivers detouring, utilizing other highways which could cause traffic problems. Many of those drivers will have to use Highway 172 and 41 to get to Lambeau Field. Roads with traffic problems already due to  construction. So the DOT is issuing a warning to make sure your drive to the stadium goes smoothly this Sunday.

More than 31,000 drivers use the bridge on Packers game days. Now those drivers could be added to the 70,000 that use highway 172.

"If everybody uses the same highway system, it's going to back up," says Lt. Kevin Wickman with the Brown County Sheriff's Department.

The DOT working with area law enforcement putting more officers on duty to manage traffic, but also asking drivers to leave early and manage their time.

"Paying attention, think about where you're going to get off the road prior to getting there," says traffic engineer Randy Asman.

The DOT will also have an airplane that will monitor the traffic patterns to officers, to help them move traffic better.
