Deadline Passes For Schools To Request Vouchers
OSHKOSH-- The deadline for privates schools to officially ask to be a part of the voucher expansion has passed. Schools had until 4:30 p.m. Friday to submit requests to be a part of the program.
The Department of Public Instruction is working to process all the applications. After the schools are chosen, they will have until August 9th to gather as many requests for vouchers as possible. The DPI will choose the 25 schools that submit the most requests for vouchers to participate in the first year. The voucher expansion is capped at 500 students statewide in the first year. A DPI spokesperson says the department will release the names of the 25 schools that made the cut on July 31.
