GREEN BAY -- Today, the Brown County Salvation Army began interviewing local families in need of assistance this holiday season.
Those interested must show proof of I.D., a birth certificate, and a household income statement. Families that are approved will receive food, toys, and winter coats this season.
"Families are rebounding a bit from the drop in our economy over the past few years and families are working, but they're still not able to make ends meet. So although they may be paying their rent and their food bills and their utility bills, they really still don't have that extra money for things when it comes to Christmas," says Salvation Army Social Services Director Nan Pahl.
The interviews are being held at the Salvation Army on 626 Union Court in Green Bay.
