GREEN BAY -- 22 new volunteers sworn in tonight to help children in need in Brown County.
It's called "CASA" or Court Appointed Special Advocates for children of Brown County. Juvenile Court judges will assign the new volunteers to work with at least 30 abused and neglected children and be their advocates in the Brown County court system. Leaders with the program say what they do is very important.
"They meet with the child every week and then once a month they write a report that goes back to the judge to give the judge a better understanding of what kind of decidions they should make with that child's case," says CASA Executive Director Connie Greenawald.
CASA of Brown County is a non-profit organization that relies on community support to help children in our area.
