35,000 pounds of food donated to Oshkosh families

CREATED Dec. 20, 2013

OSHKOSH, WI --Hundreds of families in northeast Wisconsin won't go hungry over the holiday thanks to a generous donation.

Feeding America distributed 35,000 pounds of food to people at UW Oshkosh Friday.

The J.J. Keller Foundation, the Oshkosh Hunger Task Force and UW Oshkosh all helped make the donation possible.

"They were able to take about 50 pounds of food per person in fresh produce and meats and shelf items. Things that you need when your kids are home for the holidays," said northeast Wisconsin regional manager for Feeding America, Patti Habeck.

Feeding America says about 800 people benefited from the distribution.
