CLINTONVILLE, Wis.--The woman accused of neglecting her horses in Clintonville is facing 15 counts of intentional animal mistreatment.
Last month neighbors contacted the Sheriff's Department saying 71-year-old Barb Thiry's horses were in bad condition.
The investigation has been ongoing after two vets cleared Thiry.
According to the criminal complaint, "During the inspection, it was discovered that the hay was moldy which made it unsuitable feed."
It goes on to say the horses' hooves were, "long and cracked" and one of the horses had "muscle breakdown and poor body condition."
The sheriff's department issued multiple abatement orders giving Thiry a chance to fix things, but each time detectives came out they say conditions got worse.
If convicted Thiry faces up to 11 years in prison and $150,000 in fines. Thiry is set to appear in Waupaca County Court Tuesday, October 15.
