HOWARD, WI -- A man is dead after being shot, in what Brown County Sheriff's Deputies are calling a domestic disturbance.
The shooting happened Saturday morning, just after 4:00 a.m., at the Northern Pines Apartment Complex in the 2000 Blk. of Memorial Drive in Howard.
Deputies explain the woman allegedly shot the man, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. No information has been released on the weapon or the number of shots fired.
“There has been no prior domestic incidents here,” said Lt. Christopher Knurr.
While sheriff's deputies aren't releasing the names or the ages of those involved, neighbors say they knew the couple and say they're both shocked and saddened.
“It's really scary to have something like that happen next door,” said Lou Heroux. “It happens other places; this doesn’t happen in our backyard.”
Mary Brown lives next door, and said she spoke with the couple often.
“I feel sad for both people. He had a family, well she's got a family,” she said. “I'm just sad that has to happen.”
The woman involved in the shooting is being held at the Brown County Jail.
