KAUKAUNA -- Important training in Kaukauna today could help emergency responders save your life.
Two cars were donated to the Kaukauna Fire Department for their "Jaws of Life" training session today. Rescuers say, it's one of the most important pieces of equipment they need to know how to use when responding to an accident.
"There's flying glass, debris, metal shards, so it's definitely part of the training and that's number one. That's another huge reason why we train is to protect ourselves so we don't get harmed," says Assistant Fire Chief and Trainer Chad Gerrits.
He says this hands-on training is important because many rescuers only learn about the tools through books.
