MARINETTE- An emotional day for family and friends as they paid their final respects to 26-year-old Tyler Walk. Walk was shot and killed earlier this week in Pound while he was visiting a family cabin. The shooter police believe to be 76-year-old Manfred Eisenheim. Today those who knew Walk are remembering his life.
People who knew Tyler Walk say he touched a lot of lives with his smile and although he may not be here anymore, he will never be forgotten.
"He always had his quirky little smile," said Beverly Doucette. She knew Tyler as a little boy because she was his daycare teacher. She remembers Walk for his great attitude.
"I never ever remember Tyler ever being unhappy or down," said Doucette.
Many knew Tyler for his love of sports, that was his passion. He umpired many softball games in the community. Grace Wickman played for one of the teams Walk helped coach and she says he will always be a mentor.
"There's so much. He's nice, he's respectful, he always had a great smile and he was great with kids and everyone," said Wickman.
Although it's been a tough week for loved ones, the one thing Walk has left behind are memories.
"Tyler is leaving this world, but by all means as you can see today he's going to be in the hearts and minds of so many," said Doucette.
Tomorrow the Marinette Co-ed Softball League will have a special game in Walk's honor. Th game is set to start at 2:00pm at the Marinette Civic Field.
