Fire Over the Fox Brings in Record Crowds

GREEN BAY, WI- There were several complaints over security changes at the Fire Over the Fox celebration. Officers are extra busy enforcing new restrictions to keep everyone safe. There were more than 80,000 people at the event.
The celebration had a different feel tonight than in the past. A larger venue with the completion of the city deck And police putting new restrictions on coolers and large bags. Green Bay police dealing with complaints from guests throughout the evening. Around 50 officers making sure restrictions are in place.
"A few people protesting mildly that they should be able to bring coolers," says Officer Joe Hoyer of the Green Bay Police Department.
However, most people have been compliant with the new rules.
"People are out having a wonderful day. They're enjoying the music," says Jeff Mirkes of Downtown Green Bay Inc.
Police say they have turned away some people bringing in coolers tonight. They also say a problem every year is guests bringing in pets which are not allowed as well.
