GREEN BAY- Calls and emails flooding the Better Business Bureau and Water Utility Companies all across the state over a letter. The letter offers insurance for water service line coverage and now many homeowners are asking if this is real or a scam?
The letter went out to 14,000 homes across the state, it says important information regarding your waterline. The water company says it's not a scam, but you may want to think twice before signing anything.
Nancy Quirk is the General Manager for the Green Bay Water Utility Center and she has been busy answering phone calls for the past few days, but she says she can understand why people are concerned.
"The letter does look more official than some of the other advertising they might get in the mail," said Quirk.
Over 100 calls have come in to the Water Utility Plant regarding the letter from HomeServe.
