GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Representatives of Edgewater Resources,a new possible developer for the city-owned Clarion hotel, has met with Green Bay leaders to discuss a new plan for the site.
Another developer, American Hospitality had an agreement in place to purchase the hotel from the city and develop the hotel. American Hospitality is proposing a $4.4 million upgrade.
The city council voted last month to stall that sale so the other developer, Edgewater Resources, could have an opportunity to pitch its development plans. Edgewater Resources insists it can do better than that with an investment of more than $16 million to build a top-notch hotel with restaurants.
One of the proposals includes a complete tear down of the existing hotel and replacing it with a 16 story hotel that would overlook the waterfront.
