OSHKOSH, WI- Neighbors concerned for their safety after an Oshkosh woman is sexually assaulted in broad daylight in a parking lot. It happened at 10 A.M. On the 200 block of North Washburn Street in a very public place and the man posing as a good samaritian has yet to be caught.
Police say the victim stopped at a parking lot to change a flat tire and that's when a man came up to her and asked her if she needed any help and then he proceeded to sexually assault her and she fought back, but that's when he made his getaway.
Oshkosh Police investigating the incident say any sexual assault is a rare occurence especially during the day. But that doesn't mean people shouldn't be ready.
"Make sure that you're able to protect yourself which it looks like this female was able to do which is why he was scared off," says Sgt. Becky Kaiser with the Oshkosh Police Department.
Here's a description of who Oshkosh police are looking for in this attack:
The suspect is a white man 25-30 years-old, about 5'9" and 230-pounds. He is said to be clean shaven with long blonde hair, wearing glasses and a Green Bay Packers jersey.
His car is a newer, white, four-door sedan similar to a Chevrolet Impala or pontiac G-6.
