A sad ending to an inspiring life. A Kiel man is remembered after being killed in an overseas accident, his death now under investigation. Navy Diver Third Class Robert Dotzler was killed in a diving accident while at the U.S. Naval base in Guam.
Dotzler's mother adel, says she had dreams of the navy bringing her bad news about her son.
He was in Guam for a year and a half assigned to the USS Frank Cable, a submarine tender.
Last week he was found underwater unconsicous during a diving exercise. His loved ones how are remembering not how he died, but how he lived.
"Selfless, amazing, best friend. He was the go-to guy if you needed anything you went to him," says Robert's mother Adel.
"He's always just wanted to have fun with everybody, if somebody was having a bad day, he just wanted to take them out and show them a good time and try to cheer them up," says Robert's sister Nicole.
His body will be returning Wednesday. A funeral is planned this Saturday.
