Madison-- The budget battle wages on in Madison. On Wednesday, Assembly democrats chose not to submit and debate some 200 amendments. Instead, the Assembly voted and easily passed the republican's 70-billion dollar budget.
With a GOP majority, democrats say debating the budget would have been pointless. So now it is in the hands of the Senate. Republicans still have the majority but only by three members. Democrats say they will try and sway their GOP counterparts to "defect" from the party and vote against the current proposal.
