Village of Howard-- There has been an "anti-billboard" ordinance in the Village of Howard since 1989. Village leaders say, keeping them out is best for driver safety and city aesthetics. The ordinance is now being challenged by a provision in the state's transportation budget that will give sign owners the power to decide where a sign goes if it has to be moved due to DOT construction.
On Monday Village Trustees voted on a resolution opposing the provision. It's a plea to the Governor to step in and remove the law from his budget.
