KAUKAUNA, WI - A grand re-opening for the Grignon Mansion today in Kaukauna. Back in the eighteen hundreds, Charles Grignon built the elegant house for his bride.
On the Wisconsin frontier, the home was known as the mansion in the woods to countless travelers. The historical society re-furbished the home and did some touch-ups.
Al Borchardt of the Kaukauna Historical Society says the house is a "very historical home. Maybe as historical as any home in our entire state. And we're very proud to have it here in kaukauna, and think it's important that we can keep it alive".
You can see the house for yourself. It's open every Saturday and Sunday until September.
