GREEN BAY -- A local pet food store is stepping in to help after 25 puppies are sent to Green Bay following the tornado in Oklahoma.
The Bay Area Humane Society took in the dogs yesterday to help make room in Oklahoma for pets who lost their home in the twister. Now, Royalty Pet Foods is donating food to help feed the dogs while they await adoption.
Owner Kevil Burkel says, "When we got word of the news today that we were getting 25-30 dogs from the tornado from Oklahoma, we decided to help out the Humane Society and donate a bunch of food today."
Three of the dogs are available for adoption, but if you find another puppy you like at the shelter, you can put it on hold.
Royalty Pet Foods is also sending pet care packages to shelters in Oklahoma to help them care for the lagre volume of animals they're housing after the storm. If you'd like to add a donation to the care packages, just call the store.
