WISCONSIN -- If you're looking for a great time to be outdoors with your family and friends, look no further than next weekend.
The Wisconsin DNR is waiving all fishing and trail fees for the first weekend in June. That means you won't need a license to fish or a trail pass to use any DNR managed trails. The DNR says, it's all in an effort to encourage people to try a new outdoor activity or return to one they haven't done in a while.
Public Affairs Manager for the DNR, Trish Ossman, says, "It's really neat to see people who haven't gotten to a state park or havne't tried the fishing thing before and they come back and say 'You know what? That was really really cool and I want to do that again."
The DNR is also letting people into state parks and forests for free on Sunday June 2nd as part of their annual Open House Day.
