The weather for today much different than last year.
Remember the race was canceled last year due to the heat this morning temperatures approached eighty degrees but that didn't have much affect on the runners. Race organizers set up more medical tents and water stations throughout the course to be safe.
However doctors say participants were much better at staying hydrated.
"We just have more medical tents with them and i think after last year what happened I think people are more prepared. I think they're smarter about what they're doing and pushing a little more fluids during the race," says Doctor Jeremy Metzler.
Metzler says there were several people with cramps and overheating, but nothing major.
