APPLETON - The city of Appleton seems to be having a tough time deciding whether to add bike lanes to Mason Street.
The plan went before city council for a third time Wednesday night, and once again, council referred the issue back to the Municipal Services Committee. The plan is controversial because the new lanes would eliminate on-street parking.
"I was hoping we would finally have a vote last night on the plan -- if you like it, vote yes. If you don't, vote no. Ultimately, a slim majority of my colleagues decided that it needed more work in committee. So, that's where we're going," said Appleton alderman Kole Oswald.
Some on the Municipal Services Committee say it's time for council to reach a decision on the issue.
