GREEN BAY -- A local group is celebrating Arbor Day a little bit late.
Today, the city of Green Bay along with Proctor and Gamble planted 85 trees at the Arnie Wolff Sports Complex in honor of Arbor Day and Earth Month. Project leaders say the trees help the environment and honor a fallen firefighter.
"What really helps us here is that we get the trees planted in the park and it's a newly developed park, so obviously we need some trees. And it kind of honors Arnie Wolff in a way that it enhances the whole park and the community, " says Parks, Recreation, and Forestry director Dawne Cramer.
The Green Bay Forestry Department plants almost 500 trees in the area each year to help keep the city green.
