GREEN BAY, Wis. -- A former player with The UWGB men's basketball team is giving details of what he called verbal abuse by head coach Brian Wardle. Ryan Bross outlined his history with the Phoenix program in a Gannett Newspapers article released Tuesday Morning.
Bross went into graphic detail of his complaints against Wardle which focused on allegations of name calling and vulgar language Wardle used against the freshman from Menominee Falls.
Wardle is under an independent investigation conducted by attorney Joseph Nicks.
Wardle released a statement which reads: “I can assure you the well-being of my players is foremost in my mind at all times. I cannot comment on the specific allegations under federal privacy laws. I can say the version of events you are reporting is inaccurate. I have fully cooperated with the Independent Investigator, as have our players and coaches. I fully expect the eyewitnesses to these allegations you are reporting will contradict the version you are reporting.”
