GREEN BAY, Wis. - Child cancer patients at St. Vincent Hospital received a thoughtful surprise today.
Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) students spent the last month selling sponsorships for plush chemo ducks. The stuffed animals are dressed in scrubs and fitted with an I.V. to help ease some of the fear kids face when going through chemotherapy.
"They're scared and frightened," said Jennifer Ross, NWTC student. "They don't know what's going to happen to them and we figured this was a good project in order to actually help them out."
More than 100 of the stuffed animals were handed out today. The NWTC students also donated over a hundred dollars in art supplies.
