FOX CITIES STADIUM - Monday is Earth Day, but Habitat for Humanity celebrated early Saturday with an e-cycle event.
Habitat's ReStore accepted electronics at the Fox Cities Stadium all day long. The recycled computers, TVs and cell phones will be properly disposed of while recovering some of the valuable materials inside.
"We've partnered with Outagamie County Recycling to also collect the old recycling events from the new ones that the City of Appleton got. It's been a tremendous turnout. We've had thousands of cars through the line since 9:00 this morning," said ReStore General Manager Matthew Daniels.
Since the ReStore's e-cycle program first started last year, more than 670,000 pounds of hazardous waste has been diverted in the Fox Cities alone.
