MENASHA - A 9/11 survivor shared his inspirational story in Menasha Thursday.
Blind since birth, Michael Hingson escaped the twin towers with the help of his guide dog.
He wrote a book about the experience and the importance of trust and teamwork. He also has a message for others who are dealing with tragedy.
"I can only advise the people in Boston, the people in Texas, the people in Sandy Hook still, you do need to talk about it. You need to tell people what you're thinking and you need to focus on moving forward," Hingson said.
Hingson's appearance at UW-Fox Valley is part of the 2013 Fox Cities Book Festival, which runs through April 24th.
