BERLIN, Wis. -- The quiet town of Berlin has been rattled today with news of a man found dead, near a dumpster outside the City Inn Restaurant and Bar.
"Hearing this kind of shocks me," said Jim Fazen. Fazen lives in Wautoma but he delivers papers in the early morning to many homes and businesses in Berlin. He says this type of news scares him.
Police and crime scene units were stationed outside of a Shell gas station right next to the City Inn, where they dumpster was all night long and throughout most of the day today.
"We have a lot of questions involved with how the individual had gotten here," said Dennis Plantz, the Berlin police chief.
Police say surveillance cameras caught the man leaving the shell gas station around noon on Sunday. He then walked toward the back of the gas station where there are no cameras.
A worker left the station around 7:30 last night and that's when the body was discovered. Police are still trying to piece together what happened between noon and 7:30 last night.
Although the case is being handled as suspicious, police do not believe the public has anything to worry about.
"We don't forsee any immediate threat or anything that would put the lives of the community here in Berlin at risk," said Plantz.
As of Monday afternoon police were tearing down the crime scene tape but they are not releasing the name of the man found or any information about how he died just yet.
