APPLETON -- A rally against restricting in-person absentee voting this afternoon.
Wisconsin Assembly Bill 54 proposes limiting in-person voting to 40 hours per week between 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appleton Assemblywoman Democrat Penny Bernard Schaber spoke out at today's rally against the Republican-authored bill.
"There's an effort to change the hours and to limit the hours and if we limit those hours, we also limit the ability and the right of people to vote," she said.
The bill also proposes eliminating weekend absentee voting.
In-person early voting for the April 2 primary election ends tomorrow at 5 p.m.
